Programs

• Computer Networking & Security

  • Many U.S. businesses have to manage computer networking and security (CNS) issues and need trained CNS professionals.

    Students can earn a Computer Networking & Security diploma at Anthem Institute. The program combines hands-on training in computer maintenance and repair with coursework in networking concepts, computer forensics, and A+ hardware and software.
    
    Students are taught Linux and Windows administration, CISCO fundamentals, and security exchange server. They can learn troubleshooting techniques and customer service concepts. Each CNS student is given a kit filled with the tools of the trade: screwdrivers, pliers, cabling crimpers, strippers and cable tester.
    
    Graduates can compete for entry-level positions in computer repair, system administration, help, or technical support or networking.

• Dental Assistant

  • Looking for a fresh new career? Anthem Institute offers a Dental Assistant diploma that focuses on hands-on clinical and administrative training. It introduces students to dental science in an environment that blends coursework with practical training and skills.
    
    Students can learn chairside assisting skills, such as tray setup, four-handed techniques and coronal polishing. They are taught basic dental office administrative procedures, including scheduling, records management and telephone procedures. All students can become certified in CPR.
    
    After they have completed their coursework, students are placed in externships that give them opportunity to practice and further develop their skills in real-world settings. Once they graduate, students can compete for entry-level positions as a chairside assistant or dental receptionist.

• Graphic Design & Animation

  • Do you enjoy creating computer images and video? Consider earning a Graphic Design & Animation diploma from Anthem Institute. The diploma program is career-focused and helps students prepare to work in the graphic design and animation field, which creates marketing, public relations and other outreach materials.
    
    Students get hands-on experience with Graphic Design Industry Standard applications including programming languages (HTML, PHP) and the MySQL open-source database. They can learn on software such as Adobe Master Collection Creative Suite and 3SD Studio. Coursework includes basic design, game development, 3D modeling, and digital imaging and print.
    
    Diploma graduates are able to compete for entry-level positions that support programmers and designers, such as a Web designer or developer, Flash animator, Photoshop specialist, or multimedia designer or specialist.

• Massage Therapy

  • Learn to use different techniques to relieve pain from injury, illness and stress! Anthem Institute offers a Massage Therapy diploma for people who are interested in working in the field. The program has a hands-on focus as instructors teach students the skills they may need to compete for entry-level massage therapy positions. Students train in a number of modalities, including Swedish, respiratory/geriatric, sports and facial massage, as well as trigger point therapies.
    
    Other courses review body systems, nutrition and hydrotherapy. A course on business practices provides instruction on how to launch and promote a massage therapy business and discusses ethics and standard massage therapy business practices such as hygiene, first aid, and CPR.
    
    After they complete all coursework, students enter a supervised clinic that prepares them to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB).
    
    Program graduates can compete for entry-level positions in clinical or sport facilities, salons or entertainment businesses such cruise ships.

• Medical Assistant

  • Medical assistants possess clinical and administrative skills physicians need to help their office run efficiently. People interested in this career can earn a Medical Assistant diploma from Anthem Institute. The program can give students the skills they may need to compete for entry-level positions in medical offices.
    
    Students take administrative and clinical courses that range from assisting with exams and treatment to medical office procedures and administration. They can learn key medical skills including injection, venipuncture and electrocardiogram administration. All students enter an externship in a healthcare setting after they successfully complete all coursework. The externship provides an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience under close supervision.
    
    Program graduates can be good candidates for entry-level positions such as clinical medical and laboratory assistants, administrative medical assistants, bookkeepers, and medical receptionists.

• Medical Billing & Coding

  • Medical billing and coding helps support today’s medical offices.
    
    Anthem Institute offers a Medical Billing & Coding diploma that provides students with a solid foundation to help them enter the field.
    
    Coursework covers key topics such as health information technologies, professional coding practices, reimbursement and legal issues. Students also taught medical office procedures including releasing information, managing patient accounts and formatting medical records.
    
    After completing all coursework, students enter an externship with a medical office or hospital so they may gain real-world experience.

• Pharmacy Technician

  • Weighing your career options? Consider training as a pharmacy technician! Anthem Institute offers a Pharmacy Technician diploma program for students who want to start a career as a pharmacy technician.
    
    Courses focus on pharmacy technician operations and features extensive hands-on training. Students can learn to prepare compounded and intravenous (IV) medications. Courses cover major pharmaceutical topics, anatomy and physiology (functions) of various body systems and digestive and endocrinal (hormonal) systems.
    
    Other classes discuss professional expectations for people in the career, state and federal laws that govern pharmaceuticals, and ethical issues. Students can learn about legal issues that impact pharmacy operations and study hospital and retail pharmacy work environments.
    
    After they have completed all required courses, students must complete two externships. Externships are supervised by registered pharmacists. Pharmacy Technician program graduates can be ready to compete for entry-level pharmacy technician positions in several settings, including retail, hospital, mail-order and long-term care pharmacies.

• Surgical Technologist

  • Prep for an exciting career in healthcare! Surgical technologist schools can prepare students to work with surgical teams and assume key responsibilities before, during and after surgery.
    
    Anthem Institute offers a Surgical Technologist diploma that teaches these skills and routine surgical procedures expected of applicants for entry-level positions in hospitals or surgical centers.
    
    Students in the program take courses in that cover general, specialty, orthopedic and cardiovascular surgery. They can learn how to apply surgical dressings and bandages, as well as the roles of anesthesiology and pharmaceuticals during and after surgery. They can learn about infection control, positioning patients during surgery, and OR safety issues. They discuss life and death in the OR, the challenges they may face during surgery, and ethics.
    
    Once they complete coursework, students enroll in an externship with a hospital, surgical center, or physician office where they work with surgical teams to test and further develop their skills.
